What is Shining Stars?
Shining Stars is a youth group program for kids designed to help them know and love Jesus and know and love each other. Some ministries offer 1 Vacation Bible School in the summer.

- Chris Lubs: Mrs. Lubs is a long-time member of First Lutheran Church and former teacher/director at Circle of Love Preschool. She is currently the Preschool Director of the El Segundo Co-Op. Mrs. Lubs is also the co-chair of the FLCOL Discovery Team which serves to help children and families within our community know and love Jesus.

- Elizabeth Hodgeon: Mrs. Hodgeon leads the Children's Church program here at FLCOL on Sunday mornings. Passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with children and families, she also serves as co-chair of the FLCOL Discovery Team with Mrs. Lubs.

- Christaline Loos: Hello! My name is Christaline Loos, and I'm Pastor Bart's wife. I'm thrilled to be teaching the 1st - 3rd graders at Shining Stars this year. I'm currently a mom to three daughters and a Brownies Girl Scout troop leader. I come from a Cuban-American background and studied anthropology at UCLA. In my free time, I love hiking and gardening, but what truly brings me joy is the blunt conversations and natural curiosity of elementary school children—their conversations are a delight and what I look forward to most during our gatherings! My motivation for being part of Shining Stars is to help shape children's first impressions of a relationship with Jesus and the Christian community into something positive and comforting. I really emphasize that life is an adventure full of ups and downs, and I want kids to understand that no matter how high or low life takes them, Jesus is the comforting constant who is always there.
- Anna Baker: Mrs. Baker is a long-time member at First Lutheran Church, active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, FLC bell choir, and a former COL parent.

- Sophie Killian: Miss Sophie is the Support Teacher for Circle of Love Preschool and has previously served as the Administrative Assistant to First Lutheran Church. She is excited to be a part of another year of Shining Stars Youth Group!

- April Lang: Miss April has been a member of First Lutheran Church since childhood and an employee of First Lutheran Church & Circle of Love Preschool since 2014. As a graduate of previous youth programs here at FLCOL, she is happy to help out and give back to the FLCOL community.

5:30pm = Arrival & Playground (Parents sign their child/ren in)
5:45pm = Opening (Chapel)
6:00pm = Dinner (Connection Hall)
6:30pm = Bible Lesson & Crafts (various classrooms)
7:15pm = Dismissal (Connection Hall - formerly the Fellowship Hall)
